We were invited to present two sessions at The Association for the Teaching of Psychology in Scotland 10^th Anniversary Conference on the 5^th February 2011.

The first session included a full and interactive exploration about how to use www.psychexchange.co.uk

The second session discussed the many other uses of web 2.0 to aid teaching and learning.

We had a great time in Edinburgh and Stirling.

The Association for the Teaching of Psychology Annual Conference is to be held at the University of Hertfordshire, 8th to 10th  July, 2011.

English Exchange has now been added to our portfolio of exchange sites.

Our latest addition to the exchange network sites is HSCshare.co.uk A number of health and social care teachers contacted us about the need to share resources and hopefully this new web site will be as popular and usefull as our other sharing sites.

We can now have sharing sites up and running very quickly so if you do have any suggestions for further exchange sites do drop us an email.

We have updated www.sociologyexchange.co.uk

The site now has lots of extra features such as double tagging, bookmarking and a new drop down menu.  Importantly the site now allows members to create profiles, write blogs, create links to their own work and much more.

Currently SociologyExchange has over 3,000 users sharing over 400 resources.

We started psychnews.co.uk a couple of years ago and then got a bit sidetracked with PsychExchange which we thought would make PsychNews a little bit silent.

Now we have learned that psychology teachers enjoyed having a regular digest of easily searchable psychology news and therefore have redesigned the site and more importantly recruited experienced psychology teachers to contribute to PsychNews.

Save the rennets was one of our first ventures into web 2.0 development as it originally included the ability for users to both upload their own pictures of rennets and rate other users’ rennets.

Unfortunately the popularity of this site meant that we did have to delete this function as the moderation of rennet pictures became too time consuming and embarrassing/distasteful even for us.

We are so chuffed that savetherennets.com though has gone on to be a major website for courses in the USA (and just a few in the UK) that evaluate websites.  As well as appearing in numerous American and Canadian online courses it is also in print in US textbooks and we even got a mention here in the UK in the Guardian and The Big Issue.

What’s next?  We need to do a new one as www.savetherennets is now over five years old.

The 2011 ATP annual conference will be held on 8th -10th July 2011 at the University of Hertfordshire and one of the  key note speakers will be Elizabeth Loftus.  Website details to follow.

During the 4th July 2010 psychexchange.co.uk reached one million downloads.  Which means that half a million resources were downloaded in just the past 5 months.  Not suprising though as there are currently over well over 4 thousand resources to download from psychexchange.co.uk

We have recently redesigned and now host the Folens Psychology Companion blog.

The Complete Companions are written by leading Psychology authors Mike Cardwell, Cara Flanagan, Michael Griffin and Rosalind Geillis, The Complete Companions have been completely re-designed to meet the needs of the AQA ‘A’ and WJEC specifications.

The Online Companion features a lively blog and provides lots of helpful resources.  Contributors to the blog include, Mike Cardwell, Cara Flanagan, Adrian Frost, Evie Bentley, Jean-Marc Lawton and Mike Griffin.
